The 2010 Class C Senior
American Legion State Baseball Tournament at
Tri County completed fourth round action
today. The double elimination tournament
began on
Friday, July 30th
and will run through
Wednesday, August 4th
(August 4th
is a rain date).
Fourth round action on
August 2nd
began with one elimination bracket game.
First, Mount Michael faced St. Paul at 5:00
pm. Mount Michael won the game 11-0.
St. Paul was eliminated from the tournament
with the loss. Mount Michael put on an
offensive show collecting thirteen hits.
Clay Taylor from Mount Michael pitched a one
hit shutout and led the team with four RBI’s.
The fourth day of the State
Tournament action ended with Wakefield versus
Creighton at 8:00 pm. Creighton beat
Wakefield 17-7 in five innings.
Creighton had one loss entering this game
while Wakefield was unbeaten in the
tournament. Creighton racked up ten hits
in route to the victory helping to set up an
exciting final day for the tournament with
three teams still alive.
Championship games to be
held on Tuesday, August 3rd
include Mount Michael against Creighton in an
elimination game at 5:00 pm and Wakefield
versus the winner of the Mount Michael versus
Creighton game for the Class C Senior Legion
State Baseball Tournament Championship at 8:00
pm. All three remaining teams have one loss
heading into the final day of play.

The winner of the 2010 Class C Senior American
Legion State Baseball tournament at Tri County
will be crowned the Nebraska Class C State
Champion and will then move on to the Class B
Champion versus the C State Champion game to
be held at the Class C Champion site on August
7th.
